A Great Option

Election time is here again. Tip O’Neill once said, “All politics is local.” This is never more true than when it comes to Southampton Town. With all the chaos of national politics, we sometimes forget that the place where our vote can have the most impact is at our local polling place.

Any way we slice it, this year we will have a new face in Town Hall. After six years in office, Julie Lofstad will be moving on. Julie has served us well since winning a special election and then reelection a couple of years later. She has been an effective leader for the town and an advocate for our community in Hampton Bays.

Fortunately for Southampton Town, we have a great option on the ballot this year to fill this seat. Hampton Bays resident Robin Long is ready to step forward to take over the office after many years working behind the scenes to help others get elected. Robin has endless reserves of energy, a vast wealth of experience and an extensive resume that have prepared her to hit the ground running.

Aside from serving on the Town Planning Board, Robin runs her own local real estate law practice.

I cannot think of anyone better to fill this important position on the Southampton Town Council. I will be casting my vote for Robin on November 2, and you should too. A great choice for Hampton Bays and for all of Southampton Town. You won’t regret it.
