A Great Show

A Great ShowThe editorial urging us to support Westhampton Beach shops this year, as they tear up Main Street, was terrific [“Go Shop There,” Editorial, September 26]! Visitors will not be disappointed. My family and I, in the past, have found surprising treasures and amazing things to do there, completely affordable.

For instance, entertainment. Two sources for latest movies: the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center film series, or quirky Hampton Arts Cinema. Tickets priced as low as $7.

When hungry, choose from gourmet restaurants to pizza to hamburger cafes. Shop in Best Market for fresh produce and great meat. Ample parking. Have fun browsing the art, furniture, books and housewares at the East End Hospice Thrift Shop — the staff is friendly and helpful, and all proceeds go to the Kanas Center and Camp Good Grief for children.

So, discover Westhampton Beach. Take the kids, or dogs, downtown to watch a compelling demolition show. Go into Beach Bakery and get your delicious snack — no lines, no waiting, and a fine latte. Relax on a bench. Dig it up, move it around, zoom, zoom.
