Checking various TV channels for something interesting to watch, a program about the life of Abraham Joshua Heschel, a leading American Jewish theologian and philosopher, caught my attention. He proclaimed, if you die on Shabbat, it’s like a kiss from God. He did pass on Shabatt.
This brought back memories of my Mom. She was Catholic and repeatedly told me that God must have truly loved her older sister, Rosie, because he called her home on his day. Well, mom took her last breath on a Sunday in 2003. I so much wanted her to know: Mom, God loved you, too.
