A memorial is set for Francis A. Mullin of Southampton

A graveside memorial service for Francis A. Mullin of Southampton will be held on 
Friday, October 1, at 2 p.m. at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton.

Mr. Mullin, a former director of admissions at the Southampton Campus of Long Island University, died on July 9 at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown. He was 87.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, c/o Voluntary Service Office, 79 Middleville Road, Building 9, 1st Floor, Northport, NY 11768-2290 would be appreciated by the family.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes.
