In a Letter to the Editor titled “Incomplete Proposal” [August 4], East End YIMBY founder Michael Daly “recommends high standards of due diligence, clear reasoning [and] transparency … of those involved with evaluating the proposed mixed-use development” in Sag Harbor.
Mr. Daly, who serves on Southampton Town’s Zoning Board of Appeals, approved an increased-density golf course resort in East Quogue known as the Lewis Road Planned Residential Development, or PRD.
I have a question: How does the East Quogue golf course resort — which is a mixed-use development — qualify as a PRD? In other words, can the Zoning Board of Appeals briefly describe the housing component of the PRD versus the land component that was unbundled or separated from the housing?

Today’s headlines covering the anti-Israel, pro-Hamas demonstrations across the country in cities and on many a campus are eerily reminiscent of my youth in the late 1960s. Anti-Vietnam sentiment divided us who were being conscripted to prosecute a war we...
It’s exciting to hear that the first of 12 wind turbines has been installed to provide clean energy for eastern Long Island. The turbines will catch the steady breezes 35 miles out, invisible from the beach. While good news, South...
