The news of Southampton Village Mayor Jesse Warren’s abrupt dismissal of his executive assistant, Julie Fitzgerald, was most alarming and disappointing [“Colleagues, Former Mayors Shocked By Southampton Village Mayor’s Firing Of Assistant,” 27east.com, July 21].
Julie is the epitome of a dedicated public servant. She is extremely competent, hardworking and beyond lovely. Her departure is a real loss to the local community — and the manner in which she was fired was particularly undeserving for a person who has demonstrated such personal commitment to the village.
Voters, take note: Is this really the “change” you want to see?

David M. Brodsky’s partisan letter [“Owed Full Truth,” Letters, November 27] is built on incorrect assumptions and ignores key facts about both the Jeffrey Epstein case and my record. First, as a father of three daughters, I voted yes to...
I appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised in your recent editorial regarding the handling of the draft work product related to the village’s historic structures [“Gold Stars and Dunce Caps,” Editorial, November 27]. Of course, I can assure...
