I just experienced one of the most memorable moments of my life, thanks to our local fire departments, ambulance corps, police department, and, of course, friends.
I just recently celebrated a birthday and, as most people know about me, I celebrate birthdays and family events in a big way. This was a special one for me — it was my 60th.
With COVID-19 affecting us, I knew that wasn’t going to happen — but I was so wrong!
At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, my mother summoned me to our house on Breese Lane for what I thought would be a simple birthday cake. All of a sudden, I hear sirens and horns, and people yelling, “Happy birthday!” as they passed my house, in a line a half mile long.
It brought me to my knees with joy.
I want to thank everybody who was there for their love and support. Thank you all.
