There are many wonderful candidates on the slate this year. I am writing to support Tommy John Schiavoni for reelection as a Southampton Town councilman whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for many years.
Tommy John has been a local for several generations. He was a respected teacher for many years who taught government and economics at the college level. He is a strong environmentalist who has sat on land use boards locally. One of the programs he supports is mitigating nitrogen usage and release. The algae blooms in our waters have decimated our food stock from the sea.
Tommy John Schiavoni supports updating our housing stock with more workforce housing. A lot of the traffic that plagues us can be eased by housing workers closer.
