Abbey C. Miller of Beacon and formerly of Manchester, New Jersey, died August 29 at Horizons at Fishkill. She was 83.
Born in New Castle, New York, she lived in The Bronx, and then Manchester Township for 23 years before moving to Beacon last year. She loved to sing, was a member of her church choir, and wrote poetry.
Predeceased by her husband, Oscar Miller, in 2003, she is survived by three sons, James and his wife Ellen of Southampton, Kenneth and his wife Francine of Florida, and Richard and his wife Diane of East Williston; two daughters, Linda and her husband Robert Zellner of Southampton, and Patricia and her husband John Nardi of Newburgh; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Louis Hauck of Flushing and Thomas Hauck of Manchester.
Funeral services were under the direction of the Oliverie Funeral Home in Manchester. A funeral mass was held September 3 at St. John’s Church in Lakehurst; interment followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Tom’s River, New Jersey.
