Lifelong Southampton resident Agnes M. Glinka died on July 23 at the Hampton Care Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was 86.
A devout Roman Catholic, she was a parishioner at both Our Lady of Poland Church and Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton. In addition to her parish work, she worked for the Town of Southampton for almost 40 years in a variety of administrative positions until her retirement in 1981. She also volunteered at the Rogers Memorial Library.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, bowling, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Glinka of Southampton; two sons and their wives, William and Susan-Rae of Vermont, and Robert and Pamela of Florida; and three grandchildren, David, Ryan and Danielle.
The family received visitors on July 25 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral service was held on July 26 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton; interment followed in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Our Lady of Poland Church, Human Resources of the Hamptons, or Meals on Wheels in Bridgehampton would be appreciated by the family.
