A memorial service will be held for Quogue resident Alan Witham Peters at the Westhampton Presbyterian Church in Quiogue on Saturday, June 21, at 4 p.m. A reception will follow at the Quogue Field Club.

Mr. Peters died on March 30 at the Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead following a long illness. He was 79.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes. If all New York representatives vote together, the new budget will fail. “Fighting” for a higher limit is unnecessary.
