Alida Hope Quintilian Of East Hampton Dies February 12

Alida Hope Quintilian, known as “Hope,” died on February 12 in East Hampton. She was 85.

Born February 11, 1929, in New York City, she was married for 48 years to Nunzio Quintilian.

After raising her children, she returned to school and became a certified respiratory therapist. She was employed at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and later moved to East Hampton, where she retired. Survivors said Ms. Quintilian fell in love with Clearwater Beach in Springs where she looked out over Gardiner’s Bay to the ferries and watched countless sunsets for more than 35 years. She also enjoyed many hours at the senior center in East Hampton where she created a caring circle of friends. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, mah-jongg and other group activities.

She is survived by a son, Paul Quintilian; three daughters, Nancy Q. Rosato, Patricia Quintilian and Alida Q. Thompson; five grandchildren, Dana, Joseph and Paul Hesselblad and Solina and Julianna Rosato.

Memorial donations may be made to East Hampton Senior Center, 128 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton NY 11937.

A memorial service will be held at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton on Saturday, March 1, from 2 to 4 p.m.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes.
