Allen N. Murphy
Allen N. Murphy of Key West, Florida, and Hampton Bays died on July 3 in Key West. He was 90.
Murphy was retired from the United States Navy and the Fire Department of New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from New York Institute of Technology.
He was a member of the Retired Military Officers Association, Disabled Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War and Picnic River Sportsman Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Clarissa. He is survived by his sons, Allen (Maureen) of Key West and Centereach, Matthew of Riverhead, Kevin of Patchogue, and Michael (Denise) of Hauppauge; and his seven grandchildren, Allen, Meaghan, Kevin, Kaylieh, Daniel, Madeline and Grace.
Visitation will be at the R. J. O'Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on July 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will follow the visitation at Good Ground Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (wouldewarriorproject.org) in his memory would be appreciated by the family.
