Join the stars in the sky and a night of original music at Mandala Yoga in Amagansett Square Friday, February 26. Pitt Reeves will perform at 7:30 p.m. and then Amagansett’s own Juliana Nash will perform at 8 p.m. I hope to see you there.
Save the date for the Mr. Amagansett Contest at the Stephen Talkhouse to benefit the Donald T. Sharkey Memorial Fund, which helps fund scholarships for our youth. It will take place on Saturday, March 5. I will keep you posted on the times and costs. In the meantime think of a friend you may want to nominate to be the next Mr. Amagansett.
Citizens for Access Rights “CfAR” will host Winter Trivia Night this Friday, February 26, at the Amagansett American Legion Hall at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Teams of four can register in advance for $25 per person ($20 for 2015 CfAR members). Singles may also register and will be put on a team. To register in advance, send your team name to citizensforaccessrights@gmail.com. There will be a cash prize for first place. Snacks and refreshments will be available. All proceeds will go to CfAR to protect beach access on the East End.

There will be a fundraiser for East Hampton Little League on Thursday, March 3, at the Harbor Grill from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $25 and includes appetizers, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and a Chinese auction.

The Amagansett Free Library has ongoing programs for babies and toddlers. Rhyme Time is Mondays at 10:15 a.m. First Story Time with books, songs, rhymes and lots of action takes place Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. Shake, Rattle and Roll is on Fridays at 10 a.m.
Today, February 24, a knitting circle with JoAnn will take place and meet every Wednesday at the library from 6 to 8 p.m. with JoAnn. Beginners, please bring size 8 needles and worsted weight yarn. Experienced knitters, bring what you are working on. Donations of yarn are always welcomed.
The Amagansett Library is having a centennial celebration Saturday, February 27. The community quilt has been completed and will be on display. Here’s the day’s events lineup: At 11:30 a.m. Hugh King will give a virtual walking tour of Main Street in Amagansett. At 1 p.m., proclamations from Assemblyman Fred Thiele and Supervisor Larry Cantwell will be presented and party hats from the craft program for children will be given out. This will be followed by cake at the library and at 3 p.m. the Natural History of Amagansett will be presented. At 4 p.m. Katherine C.H.E. will perform songs from 1916, the year the library was founded. What an exciting time for our hamlet and library.
There is a chess clinic at the Amagansett Youth Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. for grades 1 through 5. Register at the Department of Parks or the Montauk Playhouse or go to www.ehamptonny.gov.
The First Presbyterian Church of Amagansett is having a soup and chili dinner Saturday, February 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Amagansett Fire Department. The cost is $12 and the event promises to be delicious.
The First Presbyterian Church of Amagansett holds its worship services Sundays at 11 a.m. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
St. Michael’s Lutheran Church holds its worship service Sundays at 11 a.m. St. Michael’s is home to the Amagansett satellite of the East Hampton Food Pantry on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
