An Open Mind

This is a deep-felt “thank you!” to all those who voted in last week’s election for Southampton Village trustee — and especially to those who voted for me and the people who supported and helped me so much along the way. Record turnout — that’s the way to go, Southampton!

I will bring an open mind and an independent vote to the issues before the village: That’s a promise.

Going forward, we must build consensus and work to put our village first, before all other concerns. That is what I ran on, and that is what I will do.

It was an honor and a pleasure to listen and speak to so many people in the village as the campaign made its way during this pandemic. I intend to continue this by creating accessibility and an open dialogue with the public. Without their input we cannot do our job as well as we must for this village, which I embrace and hope to enhance while I am on the board.

I look forward to working with the board and hope that I can do as good a job as my father did when he served as a trustee. It was he who got me interested in giving back to the village; he was sincere and dedicated, as I will be, as a village trustee.
