Andrew “Buddy” Mazzio, a retired Southampton Town Police officer and former owner of Buckley’s Irish Pub and Finn McCool’s, died on January 11. He was 69. He was in Raleigh, North Carolina, surrounded by family and love at the time of his death.

Mazzio was truly a larger than life personality, his family said. Born May 15, 1953, in the Bronx, he went on to become a phenomenal student athlete at Brentwood High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Carter, and they had two sons, Brian and Jason.

Mazzio touched countless lives in his 69 years and will be missed tremendously, his family said.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, at St. Rosalie’s Church in Hampton Bays, 31 E. Montauk Highway. A celebration of his incredible life will follow from noon to 3 p.m. at Oakland’s restaurant in Hampton Bays, 373 Dune Road. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share in the memory of this wonderful man.
