Andrew F. Dawicki of Westhampton Beach died at the Westhampton Care Center on Saturday, July 26. He was 90.
Mr. Dawicki was born on November 30, 1917. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
Following his discharge from the Army, he worked as a bayman and later worked for the Town of Southampton Highway Department for more than 40 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of Westhampton Beach; a daughter, Virginia Watson of Rogersville, Tennessee; two sons, Theodore of Westhampton Beach, and Andrew Jr. of Amityville; a brother, Theodore, and a sister, Stasia Bardy, both of Webster, Massachusetts; and three grandchildren, Michael, Heather and Scott.
A wake and funeral service were held at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on July 31; interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
