Anna Aguilar
Anna Aguilar of Hampton Bays and New Jersey died on Saturday, July 30. She was 84.
She was born on December 26, 1926, to Michael and Veronica Bester in Branchville, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of Hunter College, where she majored in Spanish and education. She was an elementary school teacher in Manhattan for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling and visited many parts of the world from the Great Wall of China to the Land of the Midnight Sun. Ms. Aguilar loved to cook for family and friends and had an innate ability to make everyone feel like family.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frank Aguilar; children, Michael and his wife Marianne Aguilar of Suffern, Carlene and her husband George Spiegel of Rye; grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Whitney and Michael; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Taylor, John, Dylan and Brooke.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 2, at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in Saddle River, New Jersey. Cremation followed.
