Anna Mae Montanez of Riverhead died on September 2. She was 73.
Born in Southampton on February 23, 1943, she was the daughter of Agnes and John Gordon and attended Westhampton Beach High School.
Ms. Montanez was a resident of Westhampton Beach and Riverhead before moving to Oakland, California, to be near her children and grandchildren. Survivors said she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and wife who took great pleasure in traveling to be with her family, in expressing her love through the art of baking and for whom family was of central importance.
She is survived by three sons, Clarence, Paul, and Brian and wife Tara Montanez; three grandchildren, Kara McCreedy and Kieran and Ayla Montanez; two brothers, John and George Gordon; a sister, Barbara Kelly; her husband, Jose Montanez; good friend, Elizabeth Tyson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue on Thursday, September 15. Her ashes will be scattered in California.
