Anna Slavonik of Riverhead died in Manhattan on September 11. She was 79.
Born in Speonk on November 18, 1933, to Basil and Frances (Little) Dominguez, she had been a head cook at Riverhead High School and was a 45-year resident of the North Fork, having lived previously in Aquebogue.
She is survived by five children, Terry Miller, Ann Garcia, Laura Slavonik-Garcia, Ruth Ruzicka and Mike Ruzicka; and five grandchildren.
The family received friends on September 15 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services were held on September 16 at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Saladon of Living Water Full Gospel Church in Aquebogue officiating. Interment was at the Eastport Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Riverhead Senior Center, where Ms. Slavonik was active, at 200 Howell Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901, in care of Judy.
