Anna Viola Ruppel of Water Mill died on April 26, 2017. She was 86.
Ms. Ruppel is well remembered for the loving care she gave her family, friends and neighbors, for her bigger than life energy, her laughter, fun loving nature and positive attitude, survivors said. She danced at weddings, played with children, cooked massive amounts of food and hugged family and friends at all special occasions or simply every day. She was a giving person, crocheting hats for soldiers, cancer patients, infants, plus family and friends; she crocheted blankets for veterans, newborns, family and friends, not to mention the hundreds of doilies given as gifts. Survivors said she gave many tangible and intangible gifts, especially love.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Frank Wall Ruppel.
She is survived by a daughter, Anna Marie Skonieczny and husband Jerome; granddaughters, Ann Marie Mix and husband Dennis, and Barbara Joanne Stokes and husband Scott; grandson, Steven Michael Skonieczny and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Christopher, Nicholaus and John, Caden and Owen, and Abby, all of Alabama.
She is also survived by a son, Frank Wall Ruppel Jr. of Water Mill; daughter, Judy Louise Phillips and husband Stephen; grandson, Stephen Francis Phillips Jr. and wife Christine; great-granddaughters, Chloe and Cassidy; and grandson, Jesse John Phillips and wife Alicia, all of Southampton; and grandson Mark Roderick Phillips and wife Lauren; and great-children Mark and Alexis, all of Massapequa.
