Annabel Brown Of Hampton Bays Dies February 11

Annabel Brown of Hampton Bays died February 11, 2018, at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care. She was 99.

Born Annabel Audsley Neu on January 14, 1919, in Philadelphia, she married Richard Hadley Brown of Hampton Bays in 1944 while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. In 1949, following World War II, the couple settled in Hampton Bays. Ms. Brown was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Notably, she was one of the original group of people who organized the Hampton Bays Public Library in 1960. She actively supported the library throughout the years.

Predeceased by her husband, Richard, and a brother, Daniel Neu; she is survived by a son, Richard D. Brown of Hampton Bays; a grandson, Joshua Brown; a granddaughter, Amanda Brown; and a great-grandson, Hadley Brown; nieces, MaryAnn Peterson and Susan Smith; and nephew Daniel Neu.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays on Saturday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m.
