Annamae Bennett of Springs died at Southampton Hospital on November 10. She was 78.
Born in Southampton on October 25, 1935, she was the daughter of James and Mary (née Grimshaw) Lester. She attended Springs School and graduated from East Hampton High School.
Devoted to making a home for her family, Ms. Bennett was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bennett. She is survived by four children, all of East Hampton, Sandra Vatter, Ronald Bennett, Donna Garrett and Guy Bennett; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 13 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Harry Lester of East Hampton. A sister, Marie Rea, predeceased her.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
