Anthony Hugh Clay of Southampton and Manhattan died June 30 at Southampton Hospital. He was 73.
Born in London, England, in 1943, he was the son of Eugene and Margueritta Clay, who were residents of Manhattan and Water Mill. He attended West Point, where he was an All American swimmer and was elected to the West Point Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated in 1965. He received a master’s in business administration from Columbia University Business School and worked for MHT Private Banking, retiring in 1989.
Mr. Clay is survived by his wife of 46 years, Calla Page Clay; a daughter, Page Clay Dicker and husband Paul; and a granddaughter, Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Southampton. A private burial service will be held at West Point at a later date. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
