Antoinette S. Barsdis, a lifelong resident of East Hampton, died on February 20 at Southampton Hospital. She was 76.
Born on June 30, 1938, she was the daughter of Anthony and Sophie Dysken Barsdis, and graduated from East Hampton High School in 1956. She retired from the Sag Harbor School District, where she worked as a custodian, and had previously worked at Rowe Industries, Sag Harbor Industries, the Bulova Watchcase factory, the East Hampton Veterinary Group and for a lithograph company in Westbury that manufactured labels for cans.
Survivors said she loved her hometown and had taken beautiful photos of the windmill in East Hampton and the lighthouse in Montauk. She was a country music fan and Elvis was a particular favorite. A pet cat was always part of her home and her family was most important to her.
Ms. Barsdis is survived by two sisters, Catherine Babcock of East Hampton and Teresa Boothe of Maryland; three nieces; five nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral was held at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton on February 24, followed by interment at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in East Hampton. Memorial donations may be made to East Hampton Village Ambulance, 1 Cedar Street East Hampton, NY 11937.
