ARF Hamptons is offering a one-hour dog training class series titled “Prepping for the Holidays With Your Dog.” The classes are designed to help dog owners prepare their pets for the upcoming holiday season, with a strong focus on ensuring their pets’ mental and emotional well-being during a traditionally busy time of year.
The first class will take place on Thursday, November 16, at 5:30 p.m. and will concentrate on preparing dogs for Thanksgiving. The second class is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, at 5:30 p.m. focusing on the broader holiday season.
As homes become busier with guests, decorations, and food preparations, dogs can experience heightened anxiety and confusion. The “Prepping for the Holidays With Your Dog” classes aim to equip dog owners with the knowledge and techniques necessary to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable holiday season for all family members, including pets.
Highlights of the classes will include “Understanding Your Dog’s Mental State,” in which participants will learn to recognize the signs of stress, anxiety, and overstimulation in their dog. Effective training techniques will be provided by experienced trainers; and common challenges will be addressed.
The class fee is $35 per class and preregistration is required. Classes will take place on the ARF campus at 124 Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton, in the William P. Rayer Training Center.
