Armand Morgante
Former Hampton Bays resident Armand Morgante of Sebastian, Florida, died on October 15. He was 95.
Mr. Morgante was born on March 3, 1915, in Tagliacozzo, Italy, to Achille and Angela Rose Morgante, and emigrated with his family to Yonkers in 1930. He was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945 after serving with the 46th Field Artillery Battalion in Europe.
Until his retirement, he worked as a machinist and tool and die maker. In addition, he was an active member of the Sons of Italy.
He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Pietrantonio of Nyack and Ida Smith of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Conte; two brothers, Gino and Rinaldo Morgante; and a sister, Ebbie Morgante.
The family received visitors on October 19 at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. Funeral services were held on October 20 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, also in Yonkers.
