Arnold C. Howitt
Arnold C. Howitt of Hampton Bays died on March 7 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He was 73.
Mr. Howitt summered in Hampton Bays since 1988, until he settled there permanently in 2002. He was the owner of a marine canvas company, Forean Kustom Inc. of Hampton Bays. He was an avid fisherman, both in shore and off shore.
Mr. Howitt is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances (Cuomo); two daughters, Lynn Sprufera and her husband John of North Carolina and Lisa Wootton and her husband Gregg of Oakdale. He is also survived by four grandchildren, John Sprufera Jr., Anthony Sprufera, Jessic Sprufera and Michelle Wootton. He was predeceased by a brother, Wallace Howitt.
Visiting was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on March 9 with a prayer service in the evening officiated by Father Edward Sheridan of the Church of St. Rosalie.
