Astrid Andreasen of Sag Harbor died on May 22 at the Hampton Care Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was 59.
Born in Southold on June 5, 1948, she was raised in Southampton and graduated in 1966 from Southampton High School, where she was president of her senior class and was selected as Lions Girl of the Year. After graduating from Piedmont School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia, she worked as a private duty nurse for 30 years.
According to her family and friends, she will be remembered as a devoted caregiver.
She is survived by two brothers and their wives, John and Faye Andreasen of Southampton and Peter and Diane Andreasen of Vestal, New York; eight nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents, Henrik and Martha Andreasen, predeceased her.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. The family plans a June memorial service, to be announced in a future edition of The Press.
