We were among the fortunate ones able to obtain appointments for our first COVID-19 Vaccine in late January, through our wonderful pharmacy, Barth’s, in East Moriches. They directed us to the Westhampton Beach Fire Station.
Our second shot was Saturday, and we were astonished once again, as we had been before, at the incredible organization of the folks helping out. There were fire department staff and volunteers, many half-recognized (masked) local volunteers and great information signs from Barth’s, all assisting us as we went through the lines.
They checked to see if everything we needed had been done, and if not, they either showed us what to do, borrowed our phones and did it themselves, or ran to the tables to find missing papers.
Then, of course, they jabbed us in the arm. Everything was done with smiling eyes and a few gracious words. There was an attitude of kindness from each person we encountered.
Thank You.
