Barbara J. Wilson Dies At 79

Barbara J. Wilson

Barbara J. Wilson, formerly of Quogue and most recently of East Moriches, died at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center on Thursday, January 19. She was 79.

Ms. Wilson was a retired caseworker for the New York State Department of Social Services at the Riverhead office.

She is survived by four children, Patrick Martin Wilson and his wife Susan of Missouri, Bryan Joseph Wilson of Middle Island, Catherine R. Bragoli of East Moriches, with whom she was living at the time of her death, and Cynthia Triggs of Hampton Bays; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22. Clergy of the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue held a prayer service at the funeral home that evening. A funeral Mass was held at the church on Monday, January 23. Interment followed at the family plot in Quogue Cemetery.

Few people embody the spirit of community service better than Hampton Bays resident Robert Ross, who recently retired after decades of making his home a better place for its residents.
