As we enter the summer season, it’s important to recognize the members of Southampton Village government who have worked tirelessly to keep our beaches pristine.
In particular, we owe much gratitude to Trustee Robin Brown for her service as Coopers Beach liaison. Robin hopes to restore Coopers Beach to its No. 1 ranking as the Best Beach in America. Under her leadership, we are sure to reach that goal.
Robin has:
1. Generated a $400,000 revenue surplus from Coopers Beach rentals (chairs, umbrellas, etc.).
2. Begun the process of planting dune grass on the sand dunes at Coopers for the first time in over a decade, helping preserve our beautiful beaches.
3. Purchased innovative technology and drones to use for shark sightings.
4. Upgraded the village’s gator truck to allow lifeguards to get up and down the beach faster.
This summer, let’s all remember Robin’s hard work to create a safe, scenic and family friendly environment for us to enjoy.
