Bob “Boo-Boo Fish” Scovanni of East Quogue died on Sunday, April 12, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead following a short battle with cancer. He was 63.
Mr. Scovanni was born in Pavia, Italy, on October 5, 1945, to Amelia and Raymond Scovanni. His father died in World War II before he was born.
His family came to the United States when Mr. Scovanni was 2 years old. He lived in Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, where he enjoyed working on fishing boats. He moved to the East End 27 years ago.
Mr. Scovanni became a master carpenter and enjoyed fishing and boating. According to loved ones, he was also grateful for the friends who stood by him during his sickness and were there for him every day for many weeks.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Francine; two sons, Robert and his wife Denise, and Michael; a sister, Denise Cacace and her husband Vinny; a niece, Jacqueline; two nephews, Vincent and Jesse Cacace; a great-nephew, Dylan James Ferrera; and a granddaughter, Megan Denise Scovanni.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Amelia Scovanni.
A private cremation was held for Mr. Scovanni.
