Bravo to Cyndi McNamara on her proposed resolution that reforms and streamlines the process by which stop-work orders are administered and issued by the town [“McNamara Proposes Resolution To Extend Stop-Work Order Powers to Code Enforcement and Fire Marshal Offices,” 27east.com, February 20]. It is long overdue and finally empowers the town’s Code Enforcement officers to act quickly and effectively without having to circle back and wait on the Building Department when they see work undertaken without a permit or in contravention of town code. Bravo!
