Brenda Kiaer Gillen Of Quogue Dies March 15

Brenda Kiaer Gillen of Quogue died on March 15 at Southampton Hospital, with family by her bedside. She was 76.

Ms. Gillen was born on August 26, 1939, in New York and was the youngest of four children. She grew up in Bayside and Roslyn Harbor. After graduating from Notre Dame of Maryland University, she married Francis J. Gillen Jr. They raised their six children in New York City and spent summers in Quogue, where they later resided full time.

Survivors said Ms. Gillen had a tremendous sense of humor and a warm and fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, playing tennis and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Francis J. Gillen Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, June and Joseph Viverito; six children, Jennifer, Francis, Spencer, Christopher, Amanda and Louisa, and their spouses; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial will be held in June in Quogue.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
