Brenda Rose (Lamb) Maurer of Hampton Bays died on December 2 at Southampton Hospital. She was 82.
Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Dr. Thomas McGoey Lamb and Mary Ursula Murphy Lamb. She graduated from St. Saviour’s High School in Brooklyn and attended Marywood College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, as well as the State University of New York at Old Westbury. Prior to moving to Hampton Bays in 2007, she resided in Elmsford and Manhasset. She also previously had a summer home in East Quogue for more than 37 years.
In both Manhasset and Elmsford she was employed at various real estate agencies for many years. She also served as a Republican Committeewoman and a Girl Scout leader while she was raising her family in Manhasset. She loved reading, hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, spending long summer days at Ponquogue Beach, attending the Hampton Classic Horse Show, and hosting and attending parties with family and friends.
Ms. Maurer was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Warren Thomas Maurer; daughter Jennifer Malinowski; sister Mary Lamb; and brother Kevin Lamb. She is survived by three children, Kathleen Maurer Smith and husband Michael of Westbury, Laurene Malinowski and husband Stanley of Illinois, and Brian Maurer of Brooklyn; 10 grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, Amy, Michael, Thomas, Steven, and Mary Malinowski, and Nicholas, Carollee, and Angelica Labrise. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Daniel Malinowski and wife Carolann; and sisters Priscilla Sassi, Teresa Lamb and Monica Casey; brothers George Lamb, Thomas Lamb and Peter Lamb; and may nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass took place at St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church in Westbury in December. Burial was at Holy Rood Cemetery.
