Brian John Marbach Jr. Of East Quogue died on September 24 due to a massive heart attack. He was 52.

Born February 13, 1969, Mr. Marbach was a longtime resident of the East Quogue area, attending Westhampton Beach High School and graduated from SUNY Cortland.

He had many diversified careers and interests, which included a love of cooking, a sports broadcasting radio show and eventually pursuing a profession as a rehabilitation counselor. Yet underscoring all of these was an undying love of all sports, which was an enduring force throughout his whole life.

“Those of us who had the privilege of being part of his life, throughout his ups and downs, know that his gregarious, magnanimous and extremely generous personality were always at the forefront,” his family said. “Although this sometimes could have been contested on the golf course, his avid love of the game often rendered him as a relentless competitor, displayed even year round in diverse conditions. Yet he relished every moment spent on the course.”

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Linda; sister Chandra; brother-in-law Kenny Tassin; his best friend and partner Marci Avrutis; as well as all of his aunts, uncles and cousins; and his vast myriad number of friends.

A funereal mass was held on Tuesday, September 28, at St. Rosalie’s church in Hampton Bays, followed by internment at Good Ground Cemetery.
