Brian Michael Tormey of Westhampton Beach died on Saturday, February 7, from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was 54.
Mr. Tormey was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on April 5, 1954. He had a long and eclectic career, residing and working in Nantucket, Maui, California, Florida and New York.
According to loved ones, he will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit and his readiness to tell a story or a joke.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Tormey; and four brothers, Stephen, James William and Greg Tormey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Catherine Tormey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, tentatively scheduled for April.
