Bridgehampton Fire Department will host an open house on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the firehouse on School Street in Bridgehampton.
The open house coincides with National Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s campaign, “Don’t Wait—Check The Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.” As such, the focus of the open house will be to educate the public about the basics of smoke alarm safety, and how to test and operate smoke detectors.
In addition, firefighters will lead a demonstration of proper kitchen/grill fire extinguishment and how to properly use fire extinguishers. Demonstrations of thermal imaging cameras and other gear will be offered as well.
Attendees of the open house can enjoy an up-close look of the fire trucks and ambulances that will be on display, and can receive free blood pressure readings from emergency medical personnel.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at noon. For further information, call 631-537-0336.
