Bruno William Korsak of North Haven died on December 9 at Southampton Hospital. He was 76.

Born in Southampton on November 24, 1932, he was the son of Victoria
and Bruno Korsak. He graduated from Pierson High School in 1949.
A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9082 in Sag Harbor,
he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, and worked as a landscaper.

A sister, Rose Maines, predeceased him.

Visitation was held on December 15 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor and funeral services were
on December 16 at St. Andrew’s Church, also in Sag Harbor. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Stella Maris Regional School, 135 Division Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.

Hampton Bays Beautification held its 39th annual Garden Party and Famous Auction at Oakland’s Restaurant on June 7. It has come to my attention that there is an effort afoot to move our beloved college windmill off our campus, where it has resided for many decades [“New Push To Move Southampton’s Oldest Windmill From College Campus Back to Village,” 27east.com, June 11]. There are approximately 10,000 Southampton College alumni. We have contributed to the area since 1963. The alums have become teachers, doctors, politicians, lawyers, scientists, athletes, nurses, bankers and business owners, just to name a few occupations. I am proud of all I have helped accomplish, starting with upgrading our volunteer fire and ambulance department’s outdated and aging equipment and restoring the morale of these two most important organizations.
