Lillian’s Hair Salon in Westhampton Beach will celebrate 30 years in business by hosting a charity Cut-A-Thon at the Main Street salon on Sunday, June 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition to light refreshments, guests can expect $30 flat-fee haircuts (cut and go — no wash or blowouts and guests are asked to bring cash or checks), with 100 percent of the money earned being donated to the Making Headway Foundation.
The Making Headway Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps children with brain or spinal cord tumors and their families. The organization also funds medical research geared towards offering better treatments and a cure. In addition to the Cut-A-Thon, Lillian’s will also sell raffle tickets in support of the organization.
Donating to charities has become an anniversary tradition for the business. For the 25th anniversary, the Cut-A-Thon at Lillian’s led to a $4,500 donation to the Making Headway Foundation. For the 10th anniversary, the business held a charity event supporting a local Multiple Sclerosis foundation.
