Candidates To Debate On February 25

The Hampton Bays Civic Association will host a debate/forum for candidates running in the special election for the open seat on the Southampton Town Board. The debate/forum will be held on Monday, February 24, at Hampton Bays Middle School, 70 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays, from 7 to 8:45 p.m.

Former Southampton Town Councilman Rick Martel will face John Leonard in the March 18 special election for the open seat on the Southampton Town Board. The winner will serve until the end of this year, completing the term vacated by Tommy John Schiavoni, who was elected to the New York State Assembly in November.

CMEE To Host Family New Year's Eve Event

The Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton will ring in 2026 with a daytime New Year’s Eve celebration designed especially for young families. The museum will host its annual New Year’s Eve Bash on Wednesday, December 31, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Village of Westhampton Beach will host its annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Celebration on the Village Green on Saturday, December 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Westhampton Beach Fire Department will escort Santa to the Green, joining decorated fire trucks from neighboring departments in a festive parade of lights down Main Street.
