Caroline Sloane Millar of Summit, New Jersey, who also had a home in Southampton, died at the home of her son in Danville, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, October 7, after a three-month illness. She was 86.
Born in the Bronx, on December 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Howard F. and Alvina (Hlavaky) Sloane. She resided in the New Providence and Summit, New Jersey, areas for many years and last worked as office manager in a physician’s office in New Jersey for many years.
Ms. Millar was a devoted wife and mother who loved cooking and gardening, survivors said. She was a member of the national and New Jersey Mayflower societies, as well as the senior citizens and bridge clubs in Providence.
She is survived by her husband, William M. Millar, with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage on December 23, 2014; a son, William Sloane Millar of Danville; a daughter, Suzanne M. and husband Gaius Mount of Stockton, New York; and grandchildren, Alyssa Mount and Bradley Mount.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church at New Providence, 1307 Springfield Avenue, New Providence, New Jersey 07974.
