Catherine Hasil of Hampton Bays died on Sunday, November 16. She was 89.
Ms. Hasil is survived by a daughter, Janet Hobson of Hampton Bays; a son-in-law, Robert Scanlon of Georgetown, New York; two sisters, Gertrude Eadie of Hampton Bays and Susan Matz of Queens; a brother, Gustav Matz; seven grandchildren, Debra Yeager, Karen O’Connor, Robert Scanlon Jr., Susan Scanlon, Sharon Hammer, Michael A. and Jason A. Hobson; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Elizabeth Scanlon; three brothers, Tobias, Michael and Anthony Matz; and a sister, Elizabeth Matz.
A funeral service was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on November 19. Interment followed at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978 would be appreciated by the family.
