Longtime Bridgehampton summer resident Catherine M. Froehlich of Crescent City, Florida, died on January 23 in the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida, following a long illness. She was 72.
A native of Elmont, New York, Mrs. Froehlich was the daughter of John and Josephine Herman Zimmer. She lived in Crescent City for 46 years and was very active in the Parent Teacher Association and other school activities when her children were young. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was active in both the Altar Society and the Rosary Society.
In addition to her husband, Jo Jo, Mrs. Froehlich is survived by three sons and their wives, John and Julie Froehlich of Bridgehampton, and Joey and Diane Froehlich and Jay and Spring Froehlich, all of Florida; a sister, Gloria and her husband Harry Rossi of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
The family received visitors on January 26 at the Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home in Crescent City. A funeral mass, officiated by Father John Guarnizo, was held on January 27 at St. John the Baptist in Crescent City. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
