Charles 'Chuck' Gilbert, Formerly Of Southampton, Dies May 8

Charles “Chuck” Gilbert of Preston, Maryland, formerly of Southampton, died at his home on May 8, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. He was 63.

Born on December 11, 1953, in the Bronx, he did part of his growing up in North Babylon, and then moved to Southampton full time. He graduated from Southampton High School in 1972.

Mr. Gilbert and his wife, Bette, were married in 1975 and made their life in Southampton, Water Mill, and Bridgehampton, before moving to Maryland in 2000.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Wes; daughter-in-law, Melinda; granddaughter Laura; and his mother, Jacqueline Martino. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Conway; and his stepfather, Bob Martino.

Services were private in Maryland.

Patricia C. Farrell of Sag Harbor died on November 17 on Quioque. She was 92. A visitation will take place on Friday, November 21, from 3-7 p.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
