Charles 'Chuck' William Pecoroni, Formerly Of North Sea, Dies June 30

Charles “Chuck” William Pecoroni, formerly of North Sea, died on June 30, 2017, while in hospice care at Delray Medical Center, following a stroke. He was 87.

Mr. Pecoroni was born in Brooklyn on July 3, 1929, the son of William and Frances Pecoroni. After graduating from high school, he enlisted with the United States Navy, serving on the USS Shannon in the Pacific during the Korean War. After leaving the military with an education in communications, he began working at AT&T, until his retirement in 1985. Survivors said he was a brave, selfless and regal man with a discipline and work ethic to be admired.

Mr. Pecoroni was a volunteer firefighter in Louisiana and New York, for a combined 43 years of service. He was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 25 years, where he was elected flotilla commander for two of those years, and a member training officer for the remainder.

His hobbies and passions included softball, boating, fire department activities, mixology and being with his family.

Predeceased by his son, Mike Pecoroni; and a brother, Billy Pecoroni, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Helene; daughters, Karla Pecoroni Kelley, Dani Pecoroni Price and husband Roger; a daughter-in-law, Deanna Pecoroni; stepchildren, Gary Jenkins, Jill Jenkins, Linda Phillips and husband Pete, and Bruce Jenkins and wife Candy; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, at 10 a.m. at the North Sea Firehouse in Southampton.
