The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded an $817,369 grant to the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, Inc of Patchogue, the umbrella organization under which Supportive Services for Veterans Families operates. SSVF provides outreach for homeless veterans across Suffolk County, including the East End. In all, HUD provided close to $3 million in grants to organizations in the 1st Congressional District, most of them serving clients in western Suffolk.
