Christopher Martin Bednar of Southampton, formerly of Rockville Centre, died on June 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Boonton, New Jersey, he was 69.
According to survivors, he will be remembered as a friend to all whose lives he touched, whether it was in passing or a lifelong relationship; and he will always be in their hearts and memories.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Patricia Ann (née Belfi) Bednar of Southampton; a daughter, Tracey Bednar of New Jersey; two sons, Kevin Bednar and his wife Nancy, and Jeffrey and his fiancée Shauna McPartland; a brother, Thomas Bednar; and two grandsons, Tyler Francis and George Christopher. He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Michael Bednar.
Visitation was scheduled for today, Thursday, June 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, June 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton; interment will follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
