Colleen Clancy of Tannersville, New York, and formerly of East Quogue, died on Friday, July 3, in Rockledge, Florida, after battling cancer for 16 months.
Ms. Clancy grew up in Paramus, New Jersey, where her parents, William and Florence Stains, still reside.
She attended William Patterson College, majoring in physical education. She held various jobs in business and restaurant management before embracing a career in the wine industry. Survivors said this week that in her work as the East Regional manager for Freixenet USA, her intelligence, conscientiousness, and warmth earned her the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues.
When she wasn’t at her desk or on a business trip, Ms. Clancy could be found on the golf course or in her garden. She had a zest for life and a sparkling smile, survivors said, that will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Clancy is survived by her husband, Joe; a sister, Gloria Banach and her husband Paul of New Jersey; two nephews, William and Paul and his wife April; two grandnephews, Paul and William; and two grandnieces, Kendra and Olivia.
A memorial service will be held in Hunter, New York, on Friday, July 24. Interment was private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wuesthoff Hospice Care Center, 110 Longwood Avenue, Rockledge, Florida, 32955 would be appreciated by the family.
